How to care for Soil Superfood
Soil Superfood is alive. This product needs to be cared for in order for it to maintain its efficacy.
Soil Superfood is a high-quality composted product that contains balanced levels of beneficial soil microbes. These microbes are the key to plant and soil health. They are responsible for maintaining balance within the soil, including regulating pH, unlocking bio-available nutrients, breaking down organic matter, building soil structure, and more. This delicate microbial ecosystem requires adequate levels of moisture and oxygen in order to thrive.

Store Soil Superfood in a cool, dry place. Regularly check the moisture levels each week to make sure there is adequate moisture levels within the bag. Do this by taking a small handful of Soil Superfood and squeezing it. The soil amendment should hold together after being squeezed. If the product is too dry it will crumble apart instead of hold together. If you are able to squeeze water droplets out of the handful, it is too wet.

If the soil amendment is allowed to get too dry, the microbial life will go dormant.
Increase moisture levels by misting the bag with unchlorinated water as needed.

If the soil amendment is kept too wet, it may turn anaerobic, and promote the growth of disease causing organisms.
In this case, spread out and let the soil amendment dry out to correct moisture level. 30-40% water content is ideal.
SUN/UV exposure
Keep out of Direct sunlight to avoid drying out. UV causes damage to microbial life. Store indoors at ambient temperature out of direct sunlight.
