How much Soil Superfood should I use?

Accepted Answer

This can vary based on your project and the current state of your soil.

Unlike chemical fertilizers, Soil Superfood will not burn your plants. This means there is no limit to how much you may use. 
We generally recommend top dressing your soil with about an inch of Soil Superfood around the base of your plants. 
If potting, mix 1 part Soil Superfood with 8 parts potting mix.

Top dressing your soil can be done up to once per month. 
Liquid extracts can be applied to the soil once per month as well, however foliar applications should only be sprayed when the plant is not in flower or fruiting.

Yes! You can use Soil Superfood to improve the quality of any compost or bagged soil.

Add one bag of Soil Superfood per 1/4 yard of organic materials for best results.

If you are using a sprayer with a small nozzle, you must use a 400 micron mesh strainer in order to allow microbial life to pass through but filter out as much particulate as possible.
If you are not using a sprayer, you may use a larger weaved mesh, such as a paint strainer.

What do I do with the leftover compost after I make an extract?

Accepted Answer

You may add leftover compost to the soil after using it! It still contains some beneficial microbes, nutrients, and organic material that helps build the quality of your soil.
Do not add wet material back into Soil Superfood bag, this soggy wet material can negatively effect the rest of the product.
